Utah’s Slot Canyons Are A Magnificent Phenomenon That Should Be Seen In Person

If you’ve never heard of a slot canyon, listen up! Even if you have, you’ve never seen one like this. Buckskin Gulch is a slot canyon found near the Utah and Arizona Boarder near Kanab that you can hike through for over 15 miles, surrounded by the canyon’s towering walls.

A permit is needed to hike through Buckskin Gulch, but don’t let that deter you. This hike is truly incredible and you won’t regret getting one. There are 4 access routes to Buckskin Gulch, the most popular one being Buckskin Trailhead.

The incident was not without warning, but no one was fully prepared for what ended up being the most disastrous volcanic eruption in United States history. And while time has brought some changes and regrowth, the mountain will never look the same.
