Glacier National Park is full of famous landmarks. Between the iconic Lake McDonald and the legendary Going-to-the-Sun Road, the park is home to some of the most recognizable spots in the state. But unless you’ve explored Glacier to the fullest, you may not be aware of the Ptarmigan Tunnel… but it’s a hidden gem you won’t want to miss.

The Ptarmigan Tunnel Trail starts near the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn. Park your car in the designated lot and you’ll find the nearby trailhead, which veers right just beyond the Iceberg Lake trailhead.
